Jake Sully Costumes

Looking for Avatar Jake Sully costumes online for Halloween 2010? Then you've come to the right place.

Several online stores are currently selling official Avatar Jake Sully costumes, but you can spend a lot of time going through all of these online stores.

This site gives you a shortcut to finding the best deals on Jake Sully costumes including different options and ideas for how to set up your costume for the most realistic look.

Here's a list of the different costume set-ups...

Option 1.  Jake Sully Costume and Mask
Amazon:  $37.99 - $72.99

BuyCostumes.com: $37.99

This costume pack is good if you:

-don't mind wearing a mask
-don't want to bother with painting your face and arms blue

This costume includes 3 main components:
1. Jacket (includes black shirt & blue fore-arm sleeves) & Pants
2. Jake Sully avatar mask
3. Avatar tail (attached to pants)

Pros of this costume:

  • No need to spend time with face paint or painting your arms blue.  The Jacket includes blue fore-arms.
  • No real setup time needed, since this costume includes tail, mask, jacket and pants.
Cons:
  • Spear & Boots not included (info on spear can be found here)
  • The color of the jacket and pants for this Jake Sully Avatar costume does not closely match the color of Jake's army fatigue outfit in the movie.
  • The pant inseam is running short (30")
  • The outfit is made of polyester ---not a very breathable fabric.  Keep this in mind if you're going to be partying in a hot, crowded Avatar party. (Check out the other options for Jake Sully costumes below if you'd prefer not wearing polyester).

Option 2.  Using the Jake Sully costume above without the mask:
If you'd rather not wear the mask that comes with the costume above, but you like everything else that's included (jacket, pants with attached tail, blue arm sleeves), then you can make your costume unique by using blue face paint and a Jake Sully adult wig in place of the mask. Check out the wigs and face paint below...

>> Avatar Costumes and Masks are a hot item this Halloween. Be sure to purchase your Jake Sully costume early to ensure item is still in stock <<

Option 3.   Jake Sully Wig + Face Paint + Your own pair of khaki pants & jacket
If you have a pair of khaki or canvas pants and long-sleeve shirt of similar color than in the movie (see image to the right), then you the beginnings of a realistic Jake Sully costume, especially if you're pants and shirt have that worn-in look.

Add a pair of hiking boots or construction boots for a more authentic look.
You can then add some accessories to complete your costume:
  • Jake Sully Avatar Wig + Face paint...OR...
  • Jake Sully Avatar Wig + Mask

1. Avatar Jake Sully Wig
Amazon:  $11.22 - $19.95

  • This wig has the longer braid (compared to wig #2 below).  The manufacturer states that the braid is hip-length, but it looks more like elbow length from the image.

    Pros:
  • Has a realistic look as it includes smaller braids that frame the front edge of wig. Longer braid is truer to the movie.

Cons:
  • You may need a wig cap to keep your own hair in place
  • The braid doesn't really work i.e., you won't be able to ride any Pandoran dragons :(

2. Avatar Movie Jake Sully Adult Wig

Amazon:  $18.99 - $41.20
BuyCostumes.com: $18.99

  • The braid in this wig runs a little shorter. From the image, it looks about chest-length.
  • According to one customer review at buycostumes.com, the wig has more detail than it appears on the image.
  • Spear not included

Pros:
  • shorter braid length could keep it from dipping into the party punch bowl.

Cons:
  • you may also need a wig cap for this Avatar wig.  But try the wig on first before purchasing a wig cap.  You may not need a wig cap, depending on your hair length.

Official Avatar Movie Navi Make-Up Kit
This is a good starter kit. Just keep in mind that this kit may not have enough paint for a test run in addition to the paint you'll need for Halloween day.

Also, check out this cool video on some ideas for applying the face paint...the guy in the video does an awesome job in making it look realistic.
